What makes the Walmarts elsewhere better than the ones on LI?

Same company, same business practices, same rules, same range of products, same wages for employees....

So how can the OOS Walmarts afford to keep their stores cleaner?

Are their employees paid more- ensuring a better attitude?

I know the one in Hazelton PA is HUGE...i mean take one of our Lowes/HD and double it in size!!

The isles are huge....the shelves are stocked and clean. AND the best part...there is a WHOLE supermarket attached....the food is so much cheaper than in NY.

I think it has to do with other parts of the country vs. NY in general. Less crowded, less rude, less sloppy. Even when I go to a restroom out of state, it's SO much cleaner.

I don't know, but ppl say the same thing about David's Bridal being better out of state, too.

I'm in Ca. and the one by me is a pit! Now the one my niece in Utah goes to was not so bad

Many years ago, I worked in a rural town and when WalMart opened there, it was a huge deal. The people in the area were excited because it stocked far more than the local KMart and had a pharmacy. I think it was just more of a big deal than a Walmart in an area like this, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I'v e been in a few Walmarts in California and they are spotless compared to the one in East Meadow.

I have asked this question to some people I know who are sales reps to wal mart- and I have never gotten an answer

I don't think you can say it's b/c people in NY are rude- target is clean, bloomies is clean and they are owned by the same company as macy's

each wal mart has a manager that is repsonisble for the store- and can even buy items for that store only-

but in other parts of the country wal mart might be the only store- here they have alot of competition and since they are NOT unionized while many other similar stores are that could have an effect on the type of workers they get-

the turn over rate for workers at WM is extremely high- higher then any other retailer in the country- makes you wonder!

Target is not owned by Federated. If they ever bought it, they would destroy it!

The ones in SC near my mom are always crowded (you can't find a spot most of the time and I don't just mean good/close spots) more than any of the LI ones I frequent.

I think the fact that they have the supermarkets in them, there are more workers keeping things clean and in place in general.

I don't know what it is but there is definitely a difference. the stores tend to be twice as big, so everything is spread out and not as congested

not sure that is true. I'm oos and have two in the same town. One is so nice, clean and huge the other is huge, but a pit and I would never go there alone. I think it's location and management in that particular store.

Walmart isn't as taboo as it is considered on Long Island. People out of NY treat their Walmarts better because in some area (unless I want to travel an hour to Destin) it is our Macys.

Also people out of state who work at Walmart work their for their benefits since its a large company and the ability to move up their chain fas. When up in NY that is not always the case (for example, it's a second job to make ends meet, college drop out.. etc.. compared to a possible career and the long term employees my Walmart employees here in Florida.

I was recently down south and could not believe how nice their walmarts were - I think it is because they are the main store - there literally was not another store we could have gone too close by. here on li you can go to target, walmart or occasionally kmart for all the same sort of things

The employees are more pleasant & the stores are beyond clean! I never have to worry about them "not" having stock, bc they almost always do. I would not say they are less crowded bc they are jammed especially on the weekends but it is just a completely different atmosphere

Also, the aisles are in order & much bigger. Like someone else said, the Super Walmarts have the supermarket attached & you truly CAN NOT beat their prices!!!!
