What makes you decide to keep/stay home with DC when they are sick?
I am not talking about from school or daycare.
When you have an engagement to go to, what symptoms make you decide to keep DC home?
I'll keep DS home if he has a fever. Or if he is coughing/runny nose/very congested. Otherwise, we do go out.

Fever. Runny nose unless it is clear and very congested. I do my best not to expose other kids and if it is a play date with a friend, I always let them know about runny noses, etc even if it is clear and let them decide.

Re: What makes you decide to keep/stay home with DC when they are sick?
It depends on who we are going to be with.
If we are going to be with young babies and he has a bad cold I will keep him home.
If he is with my older nieces and nephews and he has a cold - we still go.
I would keep him home if he had a fever and was obviously really really sick and congested like you said.
Oh - and I didn't watch my nephew last week because he had a bad cold, my nephew is still young (6 months) and they are constantly eating the same toys.
That was a long answer sorry!

Fever, diarrhea, rash or if I simply believe something is brewing...
Common cough and cold- we are still out and about, but we do the same as above (always let the playdate decide if thats ok with them)

A fever they stay home. Green snot, they stay home. Acting very "un-well", they stay home. Clear runny nose and acting fine, they go out.

Re: What makes you decide to keep/stay home with DC when they are sick?
A bad cough or fever...but honestly he has only been sick once in his life ( well and a fever on his b-day) , and it was with RSV, so I dont know how I would react.
He has had runny noses and fevers, but nothing severe.
