I haven't thought about this yet, but I do recall hearing Baby 411 is a good read - by the same writers of Baby Bargains.

I bought Baby 411 and Dr. Spock's book Baby and Childcare.
I actually asked on the Parenting board which books were most useful to current Mommys and these were by far the most highly recommended.

Re: what parenting books are you buying?

One thing I will say is that to take everything said in the books with a grain of salt. It will be trial and error to determine what methods works for your DC. There wasn't one book that was the answer to everything, I adapted various combinations to make it work for us. I found these books the most helpful for both kids:

Girlfriend's Guide to First Year (funny light read for new moms)
What to Expect The First Year (and Toddler Years)
Happiest Baby on the Block (Happy Toddler of the block)
The Secrets of Baby Whisperer
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby
The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night
The Nursing Mother's Companion (if you plan to BF)
