What should I charge for an entire weekend of babysitting 2 kids?
I have NO CLUE what to ask for or what to accept.
I babysit for this family (not the ones with the cheap dad, lol!). They pay $15/hour on any given night but I know this is not the case with an entire weekend.
I will be sitting from Friday at 5pm until Sunday at 2.
Just want to know what everyone thinks is fair. I think I am a little crazy for committing to it, but we could use the cash. It will be in June...hopefully all goes well!
What would YOU pay a sitter for that long? Or what would you expect to be paid??

Re: What should I charge for an entire weekend of babysitting 2 kids?
I was going to pay our nanny $800 for a weekend, but we ended up not using her. She also makes $15 an hour. I wanted to make it worth her while...and that was just for one kid! I would say at least $500. 2 kids is exhausting!
eta: I didn't see the hours....so Friday and Sunday won't be full days...I would say $300?

I babysat for a weekend once for 2 kids (I was 22) they offered $350. I did it, and I think they gave me $400.

I would think at least $300 as well.
I am sure I am going to be exhausted!!! DH will stay home with my son, and this family lives across town. It shouldn't be TOO bad. I hope...although the 17 month old has separation anxiety BAD!!! We'll see!

what are their ages? that's a huge factor. but I was thinking more like $200-$250.

Id say $300-$400.....Maybe calculate how many of tose hours they will be awke for and times it by your $15/hr. I estimated this and came out with $375.

That's exactly what I just did and I came up with $375 (assuming these kids sleep). IMO, $400 is fair. Good luck!

I was also wondering the ages but off the top of my head I was thinking the same range. Are they relatives? I don't normally take $$ to babysit nieces/nephews but for an entire weekend might be a different thing and it would be lower. Extra $$ for other things like if you will going to movies or Chuck E Cheese or anything like that.

Re: What should I charge for an entire weekend of babysitting 2 kids?
Not relatives and ages are:
Boy-17 months Girl-3 years.
And just for clarification..I don't think $800 is reasonable at all, I would never ask that!!
I agreed that around $300 seemed good. I wonder what they'll suggest?

Wow - those can be tough ages - I would say 500, to be honest - but if you are leaning towards 300, then go a bit higher - 4oo...

Re: What should I charge for an entire weekend of babysitting 2 kids?
Take it from a person who has done that a LOT , ask for 350-400(if not more) , the hours are going to be long and kids are very young, they are going to require a lots of your energy, patience and time.( I'm sure you already know that, just wanted to remind you ,LOL)

That's what I made when I stayed at my friend's house with their two kids... but that was 4 or 5 years ago. Maybe ask for $500 or $600.

Re: What should I charge for an entire weekend of babysitting 2 kids?
I think it would be unreasonable to pay you only 200 bucks. I mean, on Sat. you will provide thim with 3 meals and do everything for them. It is a weekend and you are basically working two full days. I think at least 150-200 per day. If you think in terms of hours you will be working 45 hours. That is considered a fulltime week. Of course you will be sleeping and so will the kids, but I think the people have to expect to pay atleast 300, probably more like $400. That's less than 10 per hour and you are giving up your weekend! I'd go for $450
