What should I do?

After taking yet another HPT last night and getting a BFN, I'm kind of stuck as to what I should do next. I am now 4-5 days late and if AF doesn't show up, that means that this is the second month in the last three months that I have missed a period all together. Prior to this, I was regular. I am scared that this is indictative to something being wrong. I do have a Dr's appointment on 8/19 to go over something else. Should I just wait? Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: What should I do?

I haven't had a period since April 8th.

Doctors have said it's because I don't ovulate naturally, I need help to do it.

Have you seen other signs of ovualtion (CM, BBT, etc.)?

I would definitely recommend seeing a doc - do you think you can wait until August?

Re: What should I do?

I used to ovulate normally and would get my period regularly. Once in a while, when the seasons changed, I would miss it but nothing that was ever consistant. I know if I call the dr's now, they wil tell me to wait another week and test again because I might be pregnant and there just isn't enough of the hormone to get a positive. What kind of tests do you have to go through to see if you are ovulating or not?

I have this now too. I have always been regular, always knew the day my period would come and it would be there that day. Since I have gotten married, its all out of whack. I dont know why? I am now 5 days late but am not testing because last month it drove me insane so now i will wait and see, i have never missed my period so if it doesnt come at ALL then I will test until then Im just gonna wait it out since I was over a week late last time too.

Re: What should I do?

At any point, as we get older, the regularity of our cycles can change..

For a good year before our wedding, I was getting AF every 35 days or so... very good for me. But since the wedding, its been HORRIBLE... I can go months w/out!

Since January of this year, I think I've only gotten AF 4 times.. presently I am on CD38 and all BFNs here too Chat Icon and no AF in sight!! Chat Icon

You may just be ovulating every 60 days or so instead of your typical 28-30 cycles.. or you may not be ovulating at all.. there are too many ways to look at it. Have you been under any stress? It could be delaying your ovulation, thus making AF arrive a lot later than is normal for you.

Of course best case scenario is that you ARE PG but the hcg is just not showing up in your urine yet Chat Icon

While frustrating to say the least, I would not yet worry about it being indicative of you having a serious problem - there may be nothing "wrong" at all, it could just be a flukey few cycles. BUT I would definitley discuss it with your doctor.. as Lauren said, they may run tests and decide that you need medication (such as Clomid) to regulate your ovulation and increase your chances of conception.

Good Luck!!!

I don't know how much you have done yet, but did you do a courtsey positng on petfinder? Also, I think you can put up signs in the post offices so all the mailpeople will know.

Re: What should I do?

There really isn't much left for me to do. I have her in the newspaper on petfinders.com and any and all websites where I can post Lost dog, some required $$ some did not. I put up over 400 fliers within a 3 mile radius in each direction of where she could have gone and put fliers in people mailboxes in the neighborhood she got lost in. All the shelter and vet offices from the far east end of suffolk to the beginning of Nassau have a picture and her flier and I have contacted all of the rescue orgs and breeders. ive done everything I can think of and I still cant find her! My next step is to go looking for her in the early hours of the mornign 4-5 am (although its a bad neighborhood) to see if I can find her that way. They say since it is so quiet my voice will travel farther (sorry to all the people I wake up though!!) and that she may be roaming at these times since she is scared of people she wont come out until there is noone around. She most likely is in the woods I beleive.
