What should I do??? Please help me, massive leaks and bad inspector
We bought a house 3 weeks ago and still have not moved in because we are still renovating. WELL In that time we have found 2 HUGE leaks where water is literally coming down in buckets. 1 is from the poor roof renovation that they did and one is a cracked pipe that we found when we ran the washing machine. I am SO ****** that the inspector did not find these leaks. What do I do??? What would you do?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do (besides pay for the reapairs yourself).
Check your inspection paperwork for a guarantee of some sort...that would allow you to seek compensation from the inspector.

the roof the inspector should of picked up on, the washing machine might of been a tough call unless the machine was running and/or the pipe was exposed so the inspector can see it.
I would see if the inspection was guaranteed.

Welcome to my hell. I am so sorry you are having these issues. It is actually good you found the problems now. We were moved on when we found the leak that was forming mold in my ds's room It had been happening for a while but the previous owner did minor adjustments to hide the leaks Some things just are not caught on inspection. I have no advice since we are still fixing the problem (out of our pocket) But wanted to offer big hugs

you could call the inspector and your lawyer and see if there is anything that can be done, but I think you are probably stuck with the cost. Sorry!

As for the previous owner you have no recourse. At closing you receive a $500 credit which covers the seller for anything that might be wrong with the home, in lieu of filling out paperwork stating what could be wrong with the home because then the seller would be liable.
As for the inspector I would definitely look at your paperwork. Good luck and sorry you are going through this.
