Right now i think the average is about 4-6%. If the REA sells it on their own they get the whole thing or if another REA sells it they usually split 1/2 and 1/2. Thats the average we have seen with all the houses we have looked at this year

When we listed the standard Century 21 contract had 5-7% on it (depending on type of property).

we've just had a number of REA come in and most were 4%...made it hard for the one who came in and told us 4.5-6%!

I think 4% is a typical rate...when our house was listed, we used the same agent who sold us our house and she was doing it for 3%. Part of me worries though that agents didn't bring their customers to our house because of the low percentage split, so I don't know what we'll do if we try again to sell.
