What the heck are the Backyardigans supposed to be?
So I just started watching this show with DS over the weekend. I can tell the orange guy is a moose and the yellow girl is a hippo. What are the rest of them? The blue bird...is he a penguin (the fact that he's blue might be throwing me off, or he really is some other bird)? The pink polka dotted thing...a lizard? a ladybug??? The purple guy...a rabbit? a cat? a dog?

Austin (purple) is a kangaroo
Tasha (yellow) is a hippo
Tyrone (orange) is a moose
Pablo (blue) is a penguin
Uniqua (pink) is nothing in particular, she's unique!
I'll try to find exactly what they said on the Nick website. BRB
OK, so they took it down, but last year I went to look b/c I thought maybe she was an anteater and I know they said she's just unique.

The purple guy is a salimander (I think)
And the pink one, Uniqua, is Unique.

Uniqua is a uniqua. Her name is also the name of her species.
