What time does/did....

Your 3 month old go to bed at night? I feel like mine is going to sleep at different times every night. Just curious to hear what others do...

And, how old was your baby when they were able to put themselves to sleep? Meaning, you didn't have to rock them or hold them until they fell asleep? When they would go in their crib and fall asleep on their own?

TIA!

Re: What time does/did....

I started a routine at about 10 weeks since I had to go back to work at 14 weeks.

We start the routine at about 7 - 7:30. She gets a bath every other night, a few books, a bottle and in bed by 8pm. I NEVER put her in the crib asleep. She was always able to put herself to sleep. At that age she was able to sleep from 8 - 5am. Then I would feed her and put her back to sleep until about 7am.

Good luck

DS is 3 1/2 months and he goes to bed every night around 9:30-10:00 and wakes up around 6:00Chat Icon Chat Icon and then goes back to sleep for another 2hrs.

Oh, and to answer your last question, I also have a 1 1/2 old son and I still have to put him to sleep every night.

At that age they were up in their cribs at 6 pm.

At exactly 3 months old DS slept through the night. I attribute that to his thumbsucking. He has always been an excellent sleeper and napper. The lays down, instantly a thumb goes ion the mouth and he s u c k e d away.

DD was a different story. She's Type A (like someone I knowChat Icon ). I would lay her down in the crib and even when she was drowsy she would have to be patted to sleep. She also awoke for a bottle between 2-4 am until about 6.5 months old. Only when DH went in two nights in a row did she stop. I only stopped soothing, cold turkey, about three weeks ago. ACtually, come to think of it, she didn't need to be soothed for bedtime, she often could barely make it to 6 pm. After I stopped the soothing, they adjusted just fine within two naps. They are 8 months old.

Yeah it was about the same for DS. That is also the age that we stopped BFing, so he was able to sustain a longer full night s sleep. Now at 6 mos he goes to bed (reluctantly) at 9:30 and wakes between 7 - 8 am.

DD is 15 weeks and goes to bed around 8:30. I give her her last bottle around 7 or 7:30. If we do a bath we do that at about 8. I usually rock her for a little bit, maybe read to her and then put her in her crib. We just started putting her in bed awake and she puts herself to sleep.

Re: What time does/did....

DS is 15 weeks. He only just started sleeping about 6-7 hours bc I started feeding him cereal last week (before that he was awake every 2-4 hrs Chat Icon ). He takes a few naps throughout the day, but I make sure to keep him awake btwn 6 and bedtime. Before bedtime I read him a story or sing him a lullaby on the rocking chair. I put him in his crib at 11:30-12 when he is still awake (he is pretty sleepy so he puts himself to sleep) and he wakes up around 7 for a bottle. Then he goes back to sleep until 10-11!! We started this routine at about 10 weeks when I stopped BFing...

ETA: I know he has a very late bedtime, but ive tried putting him to bed earlier, but that just means that he gets up through the night!! so he just goes to bed when i got to bed!!
