What to do? - Never Mind, I have an Appt.!!
Well no surprise, TBAF showed up last night.
I will go for CD3 blood test with East Coast....I have an appointment with NSUH on Monday, too late to start an IVF cycle this time. If I stay with East Coast, I can do IVF this cycle.
I am pretty sure we are going to wait - eihter to do IVF with NSUH or if I can get into SIRM at a reasonable date -- but I just keep thinking about time slipping away. I will be 40 so soon and my FSH keeps getting higher and higher.......
What would YOU do??

Re: What to do?
I would wait. It's not worth rushing into a cycle if its not the right dr, drugs, lab, etc.
There are a lot of different protocols, and not all of them start on cd 3. For example, I will be doing the estrogen priming protocol, which Cornell and SIRM both use for high FSH patients, and you start by monitoring ovulation, and then using patches and antagon 8-10 days after until you get AF.
So, you might be able to start sooner than you think...

Re: What to do?
Kara, I agree with Lisa and would wait.
Also remember now that you are planning to go to a clinic that specializes in high FSH, I wouldn't worry about that factor.
Good luck!

Kara....just wanted to send some
I agree with Lisa also...you need to be comfortable with the protocol and the doctor....it will make the process easier. Monday would be what day for you? It may not be too late to start something this cycle.

I would definitely wait, this was perfectly said !
I am such a huge believer in finding the right doctors...to lead your treatment.
Btw, Kara, the progesterone delayed your AF...I really believe you should inquire about that at East Coast. Don't be surprised if your estradoil is a bit elevated because those follies are maturing. (They start before AF when you are on progesterone). Ever since I started progesterone, I have ovulated much earlier than before. Keep in mind your usual LP and how many days past that you are. When you get your u/s ..make sure you get the size of any follies over 10mm and the thickness of your lining. You may need to take estrace....since you are ovulating early. TTC naturally may actually work with the right guidance....please ask them for it. !!!!

Re: What to do?
Oh I am totally sure about that as far as Oing early. Last cycle on CD3 I had a follicle so big they thought it was a cyst -- why didn't the DR. realize it was a mature follie due to progesterone?? Considering we did the IUI on CD6 or something like that yeah I can see the pattern here.
Anyway I think what I will do is...get my CD3 bw and u/s from East Coast on Friday a.m. I will not start any drugs. I will see Dr. Chu on Monday and see what she has to say. And I will try to get an appt. with SIRM, if I ever finish filling out all their forms!! And IVF iwth them if that's what they suggest.

Re: What to do? - Never Mind, I have an Appt.!!
Weeelllllllll...just got back a little bit ago. The Dr. was very very blunt -- which is good. Basically he told me what I knew, our only hope is IVF. But he addressed some issues that East Coast NEVER even brought up which have a major impact on our fertility problems. He took us around and introduced us to the poeple working today. They treat about 25 patients at a time, and have a set cycle pattern each month. He encourages acupuncture, yoga, excercise, and all that stuff to increase our chances but they will not be enough to get us pg. which I knew.
Also was the first Dr. to tell me I HAVE to lose weight Not that I didn't know it but he really hit home.
He wants us to do additional testing since neither of us have had much testing done -- basically it has been "Oh you have elevated FSH, that's the problem" when there may be more than just one issue here. I am waiting for his email to tell me what tests we both need to have done.
I can cycle with them in May...Monday I meet with Dr. Chu and will see what she says, then I will decide what to do.
Thanks for asking Sandra!

Re: What to do? - Never Mind, I have an Appt.!!
Oh and the best part -- apparently they take my insurance so my $370 consult cost me.... $25!!
I recommend anyone who is curious and has any insurance meet with Dr. Batzofin at SIRM. He is very very informative (but he won't hold your hand while he tells you like it is). Does not mean you have to cycle with them, just gives you more insight. Although there are 11 pages to fill out before they will set up the appointment!! You can get them from their web site.
I think I will still go for my CD3 BW at Kreiner tomorrow....just to see what my levels are.
