What to do at a 1st bday party that's mostly adults?
I'm so stumped.. DD's birthday is next month and I have no clue what the guests will do besides eat. There will be about 6 other kids there under the age of 5. Well, only 1 of them is 5, then the next is 3, and then 2, the other 3 are babies. What activities are we supposed to do? Surely the adults won't engage in the children games, will they? I'm not liking the idea of children's games for adults anyway...

DD 1st birthday party is next week we will have 3 kids there-10, 9 and 6 years old. Totally we have 40 adults.
I am not doing anything along the lines of planned games or activities. I don't think its necessary.
We are supplying beer and frozen drinks for the adults

We had lots of kids at Noah's birthday but lots of adults too, we had lots of toys out for the kids to play with but the adults just hung around chatting and talking. We didn't plan anything. At my friend Harry Harringtons first birthday party, a friend brought along a guitar and we sang songs!

We had a backyard BBQ with mostly adults. We set up a volleyball/badmitten net and provided LOTS of alcohol

we still have about 8 months but there will be more adults than kids so for the kids we will have clowns and characters a cotton candy machine and sundae bar to entertain the kids and for the adults we are having a DJ but I dont know if the adults will dance- maybe since it will be a saturday night party and in between christmas and new years people still in party mode.

DD's b-day party was 2 weeks ago. We had 4 kids there and about 20 adults.
We were going to have a BBQ- but it a terrential storm and all the flooding. We ended up having Bagels and such- and just hanging out. We had good music and just hung out.

I am just setting up a table with play doh and coloring books and crayons...i do this on the holidays ans the kids keep b usy and entertained while the adults talk, eat and drink.

We do BB-Q & a pool for the kids. Parents & kids all enjoy. (Patricks b-day is in July)
But, I'm going to assume those that are invited are nuts about your child. If that's true they would probably sit thru anything. I know I would for the kids in my life!

I have my son's party next week! We're just having a bbq in the back yard (praying for good weather), I got some games, nothing much...pin the tail on the donkey, a pinata, and a ring toss game.
The adults, I'm sure they'll just eat and drink and hang out!
