Can you agree on NOT telling him and make sure not to give him any hints?

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
I was on the fence also and DH was attimant NOT to find out....
When we went for the sono, the tech said..... in her experiences those that found out when they were on the fence wound up regretting it.... so I decided to stick with DH's plan... and couldnt have been happier we didnt find out...
It is so much fun when people try to guess... and the anticipation is great......
I figured DH wanted this one surprise and his one moment to say Its a ........
I had to give it to him!!!!!
On the other side of the coin, finding bedding was a nightmare.....but, still woulldnt change my decision!

I think it's something you have to agree on. Try to list all the pros & cons of finding out vs not finding out. Maybe one of you will change their mind when it's time

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
At first I wanted to know, but Dh didn't. I went with him kinda as a gift. We girls get so much attention and say I felt it was important to have Dh's way on this. Now I'm really glad I waited! I'm not one that believes knowing makes the bond stronger and the surprise is very exciting for the whole family!

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
If DH had not wanted to find out, I would have just gone along with him. I was on the fence and probably still am about this but the more he says "let's find out", it gets me excited and so we are finding out....I could never keep it a secret from him and vice versa. Good luck!!!

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
i would never be able to keep it from him - he'd prob guess anyway. i do want him to have his "moment" and it would be a total giveaway if i knew because i'd start painting pink or blue etc... yet another thing to suck up. i guess i'll wait since part of me wants that moment too

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
You definitely have to agree on this. My DH didnt care so it was my decision. he just wants healthy. We dont really put a value on that specific moment to find out if its a boy or girl probably because I have been sick both pregnancies and for me finding out actually helps because I now know who has been making me so sick lol and on those days where I wish I wasnt pregnant I can look down at my tummy and say hey missy or mister cut it out and helps me cope.

If I found out and DH didnt want to know it would be literally impossible for me not to slip up at some point. I guess you would need to discuss it in detail.

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
My friend let her DH find out and she did not want to know. It worked out perfectly for them. She didn't want to deny him of what he wanted.
As we are telling people that I am PG, I feel like I am getting the real story from a lot of people. A lot of couples who did not find out for their own pregnancies seem to be really excited that we are finding out. That surprised me!

Re: what to do if you want to know gender but
DH and I had different views on the subject. I wanted to know, he didn't. I offered to not let him know what we were having, but he said that wouldnt be fair....so, we decided it was best to find out, especially since I had to do all the preparing
