What to do? (Job related)

I haven't been working for the past few months. I got laid of back in June & then we moved. I have been looking for a job for about 2 weeks now & I did get offered a job but I am not really excited about it. The hours are not great & its a big co & the $ is bad. The salaries are bad down here. I have to give them an answer tomorrow. I cant take any time of for 90 days or its considered a "black" mark against me. We are going to NY for Thanksgiving & Xmas so that's 2 days I need. Should I take the job or keep looking? I have 4 weeks of unemployment left.

It doesnt sound like you are going to be too happy if you take this job! If you can afford to keep looking, then I would say keep looking , that is what I would do.
Good Luck

Yeah, doesn't seem like your "dream" job. By the way you wrote it, it doesn't seem you are too into it either. I would say skip this one for now and maybe another good one will come along soon!

If you desperately need money could you take it and keep looking for something else? If you can swing it, I would just find something else because it does not seem like you will be happy ther. Good luck!Chat Icon

the holiday season is coming... you would think they would be a little more understanding about taking time off this time of year Chat Icon

if they're not, I wouldn't take the job. why settle? If you've only been looking for 2 weeks and got 1 offer, there are others out there... I would keep looking. good luck Chat Icon

There are too many negative factors...

little pay I could get over because I'd assume upward mobility.

hours not great - not sure what that means but if it's inconvenient now, think about it when you're working those hours for little pay.

Time off - well that's not negotiable it seems.

If you do take the job, tell them upfront that you have Thanksgiving & Christmas vacations planned that are not negotiable. If they still want you after that - you're still dealing with the pay & the hours.

I would keep looking.Chat Icon
