What to do with a lot of snow that is easy and kids LOVE!
Make a snow slide. You can make a very simple one, or a very intricate one.
Here are ideas: When you shovel snow and make a pile of snow near your driveway or sidewalk: Flatten down one side of the hill, in the shape of a slide.
If your child is older: Pour some water on the 'snow slide' and let it freeze. WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your child is even older and you know the snow will stay for a few days, build some steps to go up the slide. DO NOT PUT WATER ON THE STEPS TO FREEZE!
We used to have a slide made in our neighbor's backyard that was more of a bobsled run. It ran over 100 feet and was so freakin' fun to ride!!!!!!!! It ran through all of our backyards. That is what I remember about lots of snow growing up. I never remember hearing my parents complain about the snow. I pray my son never hears me complain about it.
Remember this for your next storm, or if you were just hit by the storm.

We may be. Wish you could be out here so the lovebirds could slide together. He may just go out and slide with Gracie's pic.

It's true. We need to get them together too. We have to figure out a date. Guess we can wait for the summer.

My dad used to do this-make a big hill on our property to slide down. All the neighbor's kids used to come over and have a great time. It got us out of our houses and kept us from bothering our mother.
It was so much fun and I remember sledding vividly!

I also saw in a magazine that you fill spray bottles with water and food coloring and "graffiti" the snow.

I used to do that!
My dad once made a giant wave out of snow, sprayed it blue, put his Bunger long board at the base, got in his speedo and had me take pics of him doing surf poses! It was hilarious!

My brother did this in the December storm - his little 13 month old had a blast!
