I'm going back to the gym after 2 months and want to start eating better for my workouts to be more productive. I usually take strength and cardio classes at the gym (tabata, metcon, zumba, etc).

I read somewhere that I should have a complex carb before and protein and carb after. Is this correct? Can you ladies give me some ideas of what to eat?

I used to go in the mornings and I was having a green smoothie with chia and flax seeds before hitting the gym, and eggs or oatmeal or a sandwich after it.
