What to expect at Ale's EI interview tomorrow...UPDATE:
How long will it take? What kids of questions will they ask? Just want to be prepared - thanks!
UPDATE: SInce a few have sent me FMs asking how it went, I figured I'd update here - thanks for all the info ladies!
The coordinator was here over an hour -- she isn't an evaluator but was very impressed with Ale's personality, her ability to play on her own, understand Spanish, and communicate without words. My guess, we won't be eligible. But, they still have to send 2 evaluators.
I am happy -- she also said most times the kids will be withdrawn or act out negatively when she is there....so to see Ale so friendly and happy is great. She said she was adorable and very intelligent, and that she is doing great.
Ale was sharing her snack with her, saying bye-bye when she thought she should leave, coloring and scribbling while on my lap, using sign for a snack....probably all the things she shouldn't do if we wanted to get assistance!!

It takes about an hour... They mostly just ask you about your child's skills, and have you pick an agency.

Exactly.
If I remember correctly, they'll come with a "Checklist" and ask you what she can/can't do.
Also, they will play with her in order to observe her.
EI is amazing!!

They gave us a list of documents to have prepared. Otherwise they will just ask questions about DC's environment and development.

It's mostly paperwork. It lasts about 1 hour. They will ask questions. It's not an evaluation so you don't have to elaborate too much. She does not need to see Ale. You mostly sign papers, answer questions and tell them what "issue" you might think is going on. They will explain the process, the dateline to have the evaluation(s) done by, etc... and set another appt in about 1 month later in case the evaluator that will come to your house recommended services or not.

It's very informal. They won't need to see Ale at all tomorrow. They will ask you some questions and find out your concerns.

ok thanks -- they will see Ale whether they want to or not, since she lives her too!! I don't plan on locking her up in her room....and I am guessing it's ok for her to be there right?

Yes - that's fine. My appt. was during Jack's nap so he wasn't there (thankfully I didn't have to lock him in the attic that day!  )

I wasn't able to be at ours - DH handled everything and it took about 1/2 hour. I was on the phone for some of it, mostly questions to ask and paperwork to fill out.
