What to expect before you're expecting (book)
Has anyone read "What to expect before you're expecting?" If so, recommend or no? Anything else worth checking out? I'm most concerned with proper nutrition and medications to avoid...Thanks

It's a good standard book. I got it when I found out I was PG...I heard another good one is pregnancy month by month..i believe it's a blue book? I had a m/c before I got the chance to buy that one...but hte first was good

Did I read this wrong? Did you mean to say what to expect BEFORE your expecting? I read when to expect WHEN you are expecting. I didn't knwo there was one for before...

I wanted to pick up this book - the WHEN you are expecting - just to read the first few chapters about meds and such - BUT I don't want to give DH any false hope.. KWIM? We are having a bit of a hard time in the TTC dept of BFPs...no shortage of BFNs though..

Maybe the BEFORE You are Expecting book will cover the basics re: meds and such? At least that is what I am hoping...

I'm not a fan of either book. (Sorry, JMO). I thought the author sounded like she was writing for Cosmo or some other chick lit magazine. It's probably worth skimming, but there are quite a few books out there that are more informative.

Girls, please read reviews on it at Amazon.com. Reviews are far from good and my gf also told me that this book is horrible, and all it did is to give her a lot of paranoya ! I have heard similar same opinions on it. Do not waste your money!

Any recommendations for more informative books? Thanks for the info on the tone of the book. I would have hated that too.
btw I saw this at Target and wanted to buy it but DH wouldn't let me he thought it was bad luck to buy if before our BFP

I read it. It was very old fashioned and not current. I prefer the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. Much more current and FUN to read!

Not really. I'm looking for a book re: getting ready for pregnancy and TTC. Something that talks about nutrition, prenatal vitamins, exercise, medications to avoid, etc...
