What to expect from an ultrascreen?
I am going on Friday and I just want more of a heads up then what I heard from the doctor. What does this test entail and how long is it? Is it uncomfortable(I just read that)? Thanks

you can do a search but its NOT uncomfy. Its an external sono and simple finger prick

It's an external sonogram where they take various measurements of the baby. It's detailed.
I've had to have several and from what I can remember they look at...
presence of neck folds (for Downs)
brain
stomach
kidneys
heart
arms
leg
diameter of mid section
spine
about week 20 sex organs
I might be forgetting one or two.
They take a lot of pictures/measurements and then compute the approx size/weight of the baby.
My doctor's office schedules 30 minutes to perform the ultracreen per baby.
