What type of car is easy for a toddler to get in/out of on his own. Considering all makes and models, SUVs/cars/crossovers
Hi everyone--I need a new car. One of our cars is a Nissan Xterra and the back seat is very high up, so when we add the carseat, there is no way for a toddler to get in without a boost from a parent. I'm actually reaching over my head just to get DS up and over the side of the car seat. I have neck problems, so this can be tough for me on bad days. We've looked at a few cars already and none have this problem as bad as the Xterra. I just want to know which ones make it really easy in day to day life. I have not narrowed down my search in terms of SUV, crossover or sedan yet because it seems that I have different preferences depending on the manufacturer. I noticed that the doors on some sedans do not open very wide but the seats are nice and low. I'm still considering all price points, do not want to over spend but I am a person who appreciates a car with a very nice interior. Good safety ratings are a major consideration!
Suggestions, please!

No suggestions, but will take your old one when you are through with it.

I would go with a crossover type of vehicle. I think a car is going to be the easiest in terms of your DS getting in/out of the car and carseat but will take a toll on you when you have to buckle him. An SUV will be hard for him to climb in/out of but probably easiest for you. So that is why I said crossover. I currently drive a crossover and both my kids climb in and out of it. Since you have a nissan already, have you looked at the Murano? It is really nice and the people I know who have it love it. I would also look at the Mazada CX-9. My friend just got it and loves it. My favorite crossvover that I had was the Infiniti FX-35. LOVED it. Loved everything about it. It drove amazing in all conditions, was the most comfortable to drive and be a passenger in. I hated it when DS was in the infant carrier because it pushed the passenger seat forward but you are out of that stage, so that doesn't matter for you. It did take sometime getting use to the blind spots but other than that I loved it. I went to Infiniti of Massapequa and they were great to work with. Even the service dept. was great.
