What type of sandwich can I make using Onion Rolls?

I picked up Onion Rolls i/o plain ones from the store & don't want to waste them but how can I use them?

I was planning on making bbq chicken sandwiches on the plain rolls for dinner tonight but don't think it would taste so well on the onion rolls, right? Chat Icon

Anything is good on onion rolls!

I'd probably make beef sandwiches.. season up some cube steaks or skillet steaks with a little Montreal seasoning and broil them - add cheese at the last minute to melt it.

Sautee some onions in a skillet with a little butter, salt, pepper and a sprinkle of sugar. Add some worcestershire sauce and a drop of beef base.

Put the meat/cheese on the rolls and pile on the onions. Chat Icon (I reallly like onions and beef together). I'd serve with either a cucumber salad or regular tossed salad since the sandwich itself will be pretty heavy.

I prefer BBQ chicken with no roll.. but that's personal preference - it would probably taste fine. Maybe a spicy Buffalo chicken would be a little more well matched though? Just take equal parts paprika and cumin with a little Adobo and mix together and sprinkle over cutlets. Spray a pan with Pam and cook cutlets for about 2 minutes each side. Remove cutlets when cooked and add a splash of olive oil (or a little butter) and about a half cup of Frank's Red Hot. Warm sauce, reintroduce cutlets and turn until coated. Add cutlets to rolls adn top with lettuce tomato and a little bleu cheese or ranch dressing.

Anything! Onion rolls rock almost anything you can put between two slices of bread.
