what type of would banister do you have?

Just need ideas. Is oak wood fine? we have oak hardwoods.

We are getting an oak wood bannister as well - we also have oak floors. Good thing about our bannister is that they are doing it in two pieces so that we can remove the upper portion for painting or to move furniture up or down. We were very excited about that.

It gets installed in a couple of weeks.
