What would be your course of action if you saw a wrong-way driver on the LIE/NSP?

I was just thinking to myself, "What would I do...."

Obviously, call 911 as fast as possible, but besides that, get the hell out of the way....

Typically, I always stick to the right line on the LIE or NSP.....I always feel I can quickly swerve to the right on a grassy knoll or something (instead of the median on the far left lane), in any kind of accident looming.

It's rare I am ever in left or middle line. I like the right and I like to go slow.

But if these jerk0ffs are entering the highways from the exit ramps.....maybe I shouldn't be in the right line anymore, KWIM?

I also fear stopping my car, because it seems the jerk0ffs hit vehicles that are stopped, for some reason.

..maybe ditch the car and get out and run?

Have you thought about this?
What's your plan of action?

I dont think anything can prepare you for that. I'm sure it all happens so fast that you barely have time to react. All you can do is just stay alert and look far enough ahead of you. This is getting really scarry

Try to pull over while calling OnStar - they have my exact location.
If I pull over I can try to keep track of the wrong way driver and god-forbid any accident they may cause until help arrives.

I was listening to one of those talk radio shows once and the host was saying if you are driving at night on a fairly deserted highway you should never drive in the left lane, because drunk drivers who enter driving the wrong way in their clouded thinking believe they are driving in the extreme right lane. He went on to say if you can't see the red lights of the car ahead of you, move to the right. Totally makes sense.
