What would or wouldn't you like in a child's valentines day gift bag
I'm doing little gift bags for my kid's pre-k class. Not required or anything, just wanted to do something cute as a little extra.
I didn't put any candy in it, just valentine themed pencils, erasers and stickers.
Anything else you can think of?

the things i love getting/putting in goody bags: stickers crayons ( the small pack of 4) playdough- the small goody bag size and i like to put something sweet like fruit snacks or cookies tattoes- my daugher loves them
me personally, i hate too many little plastic knick knacks things thet get used once and then i end up throwing them away. at least you can throw a play dough or some crayons in your diaper bag. for me, i never use the pencils.

We've gotten holiday themed straws before for Halloween & Christmas that my son loves. I've seen them at Dollar Tree...

Re: What would or wouldn't you like in a child's valentines day gift bag
I’m giving out kazoos this year (got them at Michaels). I gave out pencils with erasers and writing pads, crayons when she was younger, toy hearts that stretch last year.
I AM giving in this year and with the kazoo they are getting a lollipop.
What do I want? Temporary tattoos, small hand held games, colors, toys, writing pads, stickers maybe pretzels or goldfish. Are any of you old enough to remember when valentines were JUST the paper valentine?
What do I NOT want? Chewy / gummy candy (fruit snacks, fruit shaped candies with sugar on top of them, fruit by the foot, gummy hearts, Swedish fish, tootsie rolls, gum). Those are the worse thing EVER for her teeth. Ring pops (to me are disgusting). Pencils, we never use them!
If you’re going to give her chocolate at least keep it simple and JUST chocolate like kisses. No need to hand her a twix, snickers, milky way, butterfinger (god no, see stuck in teeth) or cherry cordials.
Lollipops are annoying but keep them the small and I’m meh about them.
JMHO
ETA: Last year AJ's teacher gave the girls little paper fans in the shape of a heart. AJ adored that fan for such a long time until it tore. They were the cheap paper fans that fold closed in the handle.
I also agree with the play dough,

Re: What would or wouldn't you like in a child's valentines day gift bag
My favorite things are stickers, notepads, crayons, and tattoos. Note they are all things that get USED UP eventually
I am neutral about candy. I go through candy that comes home and decide what's a keeper and what gets thrown out. The stuff I keep goes in a tupperware that they get to choose a piece out of every once in a while.
As for all the other little doodads-- I would be happy if I never saw another crappy item from Oriental Trading again The stuff is junk. It breaks immediately, which sucks because then my kid is all disappointed but on the plus side at least I get to throw it out If it doesn't break it's just more clutter we really don't need.
