What would u do RE Flu booster shot?
I'm all for the flu shot...But my youngest has been really sick since last tuesday, we had to go to the ER on saturday night with her. She has a really horrible virus-congestion, vommiting, cough, sore throat but no fever.
My PEd's office will give her the booster shot, we already pushed it up from last week, as long as she doesn't have a fever.
Would you give your DC the booster tomorrow when they are just starting to feel better?
Anyone know what happens if she doesn't get the booster or if we wait too long after the 1st shot?
DD is 7 months old
ETA: She didn't get sick from the flu shot-she had her 1st shot on Jan 7th and is suppose to get the booster 30 days after.
TIA!

The shot has a dead virus and shouldn't cause flu symptoms.
I know the Flumist (nasal vaccine) has a weakened virus and COULD cause flu.
Call the PED and ask- I would trust what they say. I wouldn't put off the booster for too long as the reason for the booster is to protect her from getting the flu.

the flu vaccine doesn't contain active virus so it won't cause flu symptoms.
i would get your baby the shot ASAP - flu is nasty...

Re: What would u do RE Flu booster shot?
I so know you guys are so right, and I know i have to do it, i just hate seeing them sick. I saw too many little babies much sicker than DD on saturday night at the ER.
I just feel bad her poor immune system has been in overdrive for a week. Poor baby is still miserable but better than yesterday.
