What would you do?
Some background -
In mid August my entire sales force was laid off including myself (pharmaceuticals). And I was fortunate to get a new job quiickly. So far it has been going okay, though the past rep bad talked the company and I have some relationships that need to be mended. Also my regional manager is new and came from my last company. I never worked for him before but know that he is a major micromanager and that is not a style I work well under. That said the comany is a great company from what i can tell.
So the problem is that my former manager called me last night (which I am very friendly with) and offered me a job. It is a financially lateral move, no pay increase, and is a start up pharmaceutical company (owner has a good track record with past companies).
So back to my question - what would you do? Ruin a brief relationship with the company I work with know and go to a start up company? Or turn down the job knowing that if it is meant to be it will come around again?
So stuck - chose the person or the company???
Sorry so long- TIA

Re: What would you do?
That's a tough one. Have you gotten an offer in writing?
I would probably lean closer to that vs. staying in an environment that could potentially be difficult to work in for the long-term.
It is probably better to leave now anyways since you've only been there a couple of months.

Re: What would you do?
I would probably stick with what I have, knowing down the line I have other options.
I'd be wary of leaving a stable company for a start-up in this economy.
Kudos to you for having options! It's a testament to your skillset!
