what would you do? furniture related

I had ordered my furniture late November from Behrs. I got a call 12/21 that everything was in except the dresser/changing table. I was told last week that it would be in at the end of last week, no call.

I called yesterday and they're now saying it SHOULD be in in two weeks, 1/29. Then she slipped and said mid February. Do I just have the crib and armoire delivered now and wait for the dresser or just wait for everything.

I'm afraid I'll wait for everything and one of the pieces will be damaged or something and take another 8-12 weeks to get a replacement. Then again I'm not paying two delivery charges.

Any opinions?

I was told that Behr's will not charge you for the follow up deliveries by the sales person (John) at the store.

So...I would definitely have them deliver now so that you can inspect the pieces.

Re: what would you do? furniture related

This exactly happened to me!

I ordered furniture from a trusted store up here in CT, but Legacy had delivery delays.

So my crib, changing dresser and chest of drawers were in but my hutch wasn't. If i had everything delivered when they 1st called i would have had to pay delivery charges for the hutch.

I waited as long as possible to have the furn delivered that was in. I wound up getting it delivered a month before DD was due, and because Legacy caused a customer service issue, i was in constant contact with the store and wound up getting my hutch delivered for free. The hutch came in 5-6 weeks after DD was born! I ordered my Furniture the end of january and DD was due the beginning of May.

I would hold off as long as you can, then have it delivered and talk to the manager and make a stink. It's not your fault and the store should accomodate you in customer service since the vendor is delaying delivery.

Good luck! sorry so long!

I didn't think they would charge you for another delivery. Glad you are getting the pieces sooner!
