What would you do if . . .
your SO just decided that they no longer loved you and wanted to end the relationship?
You see so many marriages, engagements and relationships breaking up. . . . I would be devastated . . .
Do you ever think that people don't take commitment and relationships as seriously anymore . . . Whatever happened to commitment and "til death do us part?"
It is so sad- years ago people would grow old together- I have always been a sucker for that type of love- growing old- sitting on a front porch together sharing a porch swing or rocking chairs . . .

Honestly, I don't think this would ever happen to us, I really don't.
I guess there is a chance, but my gut feeling is it would never happen. Phil is the one person I know who knows me and loves me for who I am and I can be a pain in the BUT!!!!
He is my one sure thing in this life, I have never had any doubts about him and I honestly can't even think that I would in the future.

Isn't that the best feeling? It is just a hypothetical ? It just aggravates me when you see people who doubt love over little things- ya know? Look at the celebrities that enter and exit marriages, engagements, etc. in a matter of months. I was always taught that when you love someone, you fight for them, you do everything you can to make it work. It is so sad to see how people have taken love and commitment and have turned into something so meaningless . . .

I agree. I would be so devestated. Hubby is my best friend, he laughs with me and not at me, he see's me for me, looks into my eyes and see's my soul. We may disagree on things, but it makes us stronger. The best part of my day is getting into bed with him. It just makes the day feel so complete.
I look forward to growing old with him. Some days now feel like we've been married for 50 years. He just knows me so well.

I agree, it is the best feeling!!!!!
I can't even explain how much I love him.
ETA: It's weird that you posted this, because just a half ago we were in the kitchen making grilled cheese for dinner and we were talking about life and growing old together.
And he said to me that we would be the couple who once one of us dies the other mate would die soon after.
And he said I would have to die first, because he couldn't even think of me being alone without him. It's kinda morbid, I know, but also sweet.

Okay, I must be PMSing, because that made me all weepy.
I would be devastated if DH ever fell out of love with me.
I've been in a couple long term relationships in my life and even though I was in love, I always knew somewhere down deep that it wasn't going to work out.
But I've never had that feeling with DH. I guess that's how I knew he was "the one". No matter how crazy he drives me and how mad we get at each other sometimes I know that we will always be together.

Re: What would you do if . . .
my favorite quote comes from Winnie The pooh "If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 99 so I never have to live a day without you"
I tell hubby that all the time (even though it really doesnt apply since he is 6 yrs my senior)
I always tell hubby, if I go first I am coming back for him

Re: What would you do if . . .
I truly believe in the old saying if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you, it was always yours, if it doesn't, it was never meant to be.
I think times were different when say our parents and grandparents were married, I don't think they had the stresses of what we do today.

Re: What would you do if . . .
I know that it wouldn't happen, but if it did, I would be miserable. It would be very difficult for me to move on with my life and I honestly don't think I would ever find true happiness again.
