what would you do with your tax money
would you fix the roof that leaks every time it rains or put it towards the home equity or bank it? I say fix the roof and whatever is left over bank it my dh disagrees he says bank it all in case for a rainy day (no punt intended).

I would fix the roof...otherwise you may have much bigger bills in the future due to complications from a leaking roof.
You are investing in the house by fixing the roof and it's the wisest investment out there.

I'd fix the leak! If not it will cause bigger issues later on.
We used our money to go to Puerto Rico! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

definitely fix the roof, you don't want to let something like that go on for long, you can damage the structure of your house,and then it won't matter if you have paid down principal.

Def fix the roof. You can have so many other lasting & more expensive issues if it gets worse (like wood rot, mold, foundation porblems, etc).

i'd fix the roof and bank/invest the rest.
we are using ours to pay down our debt. i wish we were debt-free....then we'd be going on vaca. sigh. next year....
