What would you ladies do? Shower related-Added Question
So, last night my mom and my sister called me because they wanted to know if they should change the date of my shower. I am currently due on 5/3/07 and they have scheduled the shower for 4/14/07. But at my last appointment, my doctor told me she is going to induce me at 37 weeks (4/12/07 if she is being literal) because of my polyp situation.
My mom and sister wanted to know if they should change the shower? I told them as of now not to because my assistant is out of the office until the 15th and she took her vacation while I would still be working so I was going to ask my doctor to move the induction to 38 weeks.
So, what would you ladies do?
ETA: What if I am not getting induced and my due date was still 5/3, do you still think it is too late to have the shower? I'd still be going out of work on 4/16 or so.

I would change the shower date.
I would want to have all the gifts home, assembled etc and have time to get ready. I think thats pushing it too close. And what if the Dr says no?

Re: What would you ladies do? Shower related
i think I would change the shower too if it isn't too much of a bother. It is early enough that they can get the word out. And I agree with Donna, I would want to get everything set up beforehand. And have time to purchase items you didn't get...

I would change the date as well...you want to have time to organize all the stuff before the baby is here..we had my shower 1.5 months before I was due and it gave me plenty of time to assemble and organize everything...I would hate to have to do all that on top of having a newborn to care for.

I vote to change the shower. I think it might also put your mom and sister at ease if they have an earlier date so that it isn't too hard on you.

Definitely change the date. You are cutting it way too close.

I agree with the other girls. Even if they change the induction a week later, that's not enough time.

change it, give yourself a chance to get organized and return and exchange and wash some stuff before the baby comes.

I would definitely change the shower date if its not too much of a hassle. Definitely to give myself a little more time.

I would change it. Probably to mid march so you have time to set everything up.

I would def. change the shower. You want to have plenty of time to organize and get everything ready before your little one arrives. I am having mine at 31 weeks.

Re: What would you ladies do? Shower related-Added Question
I think changing the date might be best - I would think invites haven't gone out yet right?
although - my friend was 9 weeks early and they ended up having the shower after the birth (the baby was still in the hospital)
