What would you wear? Steakhouse in NYC
I have a surprise party to go to next week at a steakhouse in NYC. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time trying to figure out what to wear. What would you all wear? Give me some ideas please. TIA

Is it all younger friends for a bday? Dark jeans, pumps, blazer, statement necklace. If it includes family of all ages I might wear a dress.

Thanks!
It's friends, no family.

On 2nd Ave, my guess is The Palm. I'd go jeans and a nice top and heels.

Honestly there are really no dress codes in these places anymore so wear what YOU feel comfy in
I am a big dress fan so I'd probably wear a cute dress- nothing too fancy
But nice jeans or pants are fine too

You are good either way. If it is Palm it's nice! You'll have a great time!

A dress, or nice pants/jeans, would be great for a steak house. If it is a surprise party, dressing up with a nice top would be great.

Re: What would you wear? Steakhouse in NYC
I think you're fine with anything except a full on cockatail dress - I am the queen being overdressed, but that is WAY overdressed. You can do 'dressed up' jeans, pants, skirt, or a dress - anything will work - Just stay away from the cocktail attire.
Especially if you're going to the Palm (which, the original on 2nd Ave is no longer there and it's just the Palm 2, across the street now ..........I'm so depressed over that ) but it's a pretty informal steakhouse .........AMAZING food, but not a really 'fancy' place
have a great time!

Thanks guys!! I still don't know the name of the place, but I don't think it's the Palm. Anywho, I've decided to wear my dark skinnies, a nice top & my pumps.
Thanks again!!

Not to hijack (especially since I was wrong on my guess!) but the original Palm isn't there anymore?! That was an NYC institution!

I KNOW .........DH and I used to live around the block - he has a work event last week across the street at the Palm 2 .....and told me the original is closed. I was so sad. I'm down on 27th, so I rarely get up there .........
