What's a good amount of cash..

to give to a subordinate?

I was thinking $100 each. There are 4 of them, so that's $400.

So I can do 1 of a few things...

1 - $100 cash

2 - $100 visa gift card (i think there's an additional surcharge)

3 - an actual personalized gift (worth $100) to each

What do you think? I can prob get away with spending less than $100 on the 3rd choice since I'm going to the outlets!!! Chat Icon

I would go with number 3. I never feel the cash I would give would be enough and a gift always seems like more.

Re: What's a good amount of cash..

a gift is much more personal...as long as its a gift the person would enjoy!

My first boss gave me Tiffany knot earrings and Godiva chocolate. I loved them both, and it probably cost under $100!

Out of all the gifts I have received from bosses, either a gift card or the cash is always the best!

That's really generous! I have 1 person under me & last year I bought him a $20 bottle of wine for Christmas. My boss usually gives me a gift--probably in the 40-50 range.

Here, we usual give gifts if it is personal, but if it is from the company ( like a retirement gift) it is usually a GC.
