What's better for selling things? Craigslist or Ebay?

I have a ton of clothing and accessories that I'd like to try to sell, but dont know what is better-- Craigslist or Ebay.

I can see that craigslist might be easier in some ways (its free and there likely wouldnt be any other costs), but the reach of Ebay may help me get my price.

What do you prefer and why? For those that ship their goods to the purchasers, do you use USPS flat rate shipping or use UPS/FEDEx and just estimate how much it will cost to ship? I presume that most people also pass along the shipping cost to the buyers too, right?

Any other services out there that Im missing?

Thanks for any advice!

For clothing and accessories, i'd def suggest ebay.. and have them pay their own shipping..

I'm trying to figure out the answer to this too.

From my experience, Craigslist was better for furniture, but that doesn't help you.

I believe Ebay has no listing fees right now, so you might want to give it a shot for the wider audience.

I trust ebay more. You are protected and don't need to deal with shady people. The fees can be killer, though. Between ebay fees and paypal fees I took a HUGE hit when selling a wedding gown

I trust ebay more, i feel like creepers come out of craigslist, IMO. With ebay its secure and most sellers have feedback so you know others have dealt with them already.

Ebay! CL can be OK except people can be very interested and then you never hear from them again. So if you are left hanging a few times, you can miss you on selling or just get frustrated. Plus you have to meet up with the person.

Ebay is a firm commitment. They actually do not have listing fees right now. Yes you pay the final value fee but compared to the iffiness of CL, unless its a bulky or impossible to ship item, I prefer ebay.
