what's normal weight gain...
in each trimester? I am just entering my 2nd trimester and I think I gained about 5 pounds already..?

i wouldn't be too concerned about your weight gain in any one time period in pregnancy. every woman has a different weight gain pattern. i lost 10 pounds in the first tri and it took me until 18 weeks to gain it back. so i actually didn't gain over my pre-pregnancy weight until well into my 2nd tri. but by the end i had gained an average amount of weight (about 25lbs). it will all even out in the end.

I would take your 5 lbs in a heartbeat. I am 13 1/2 weeks & gained 13 lbs! When your petite you usually gain more & faster. I started at 100 lbs. This is my second child & I also gained 14 lbs in the first trimester w/ my first. I ended up gaining a total of 50 lbs. I lost it all but it looks like I'm headed down that same path this time. Oh well!

Well I was doing good up until about 6 weeks ago. The 1st trimester I gained about 5lbs, the second, for the majority of it, I was up 18lbs, now at 31 weeks I am up 35lbs

Try not to worry about it. I'm not thrilled with my weight gain, but my MD says I'm doing just fine for what she would expect a thin person to put on. However, I did put on close to 10lbs in the first trimester and have kept at that pace

 Don't worry about it - I'm sure you look beautiful and the weight will come off in no time. I'm right there with you up almost 30lbs at 27+ wks

I gained maybe 3 lbs in my first trimester. I'm at 19 weeks and I've now gained 10lbs.

My Dr. said he expects me to gain approx. a pound a week...that's 40 pounds...I'm hoping I don't gain that much since I wasn't exactly skinny before being pg.
