What's the deal with salespeople not being forthcoming about current sales?

So I went to the pre-sale at Bloomies on Thursday. I bought a lot of bathing suits/cover-ups and got some great deals with the pre-sale.

I went to another department and went to purchase an outfit. I knew if I spent over $100, I should get $25 off. Well, the saleslady gives me the total and I asked her about the pre-sale going on. She was like, "oh...yeah, but you won't be able to pick this up until Tuesday." Like I care! Give me the discount! Why was she so incognito about it? So annoying! Anyway...she ended up giving me the $25 off, but I had to ask for it and it totally annoyed me. (and no you didn't need any coupons for the pre-sale).

really? I find the exact opposite every time I go- they are always pushing the pre-sale

Yea, i always feel like they push the presale, and i hate it, when i buy something i like to take it home asap, i am not an online shopper because i need instant gratification, even if it means losing out on a deal.

That's very strange. I found they were pushing the pre sale this weekend as well. Maybe it was the end of her shift she'd checked out?
