What's the earliest you can give a baby a bath again?

Once the umbilical cord falls off which could be a week or 2. Sometimes longer. You can wash them down and wash their heads but you can't get the cord wet.

right-- I am just trying to determine if I need to make sure I have the tub right away-- guess not!
Although I will greatly appreciate my baby's cord falling off before I even get home!!

I think you are supposed to sponge wash your baby until the baby's umbilical cord falls off. I plan to do this in the baby tub.
I just learned that the umbilical cord falls off on its own. I find this quite disturbing!

Re: What's the earliest you can give a baby a bath again?
i used cotton balls to give him a sponge bath on a bear sponge. i didn't use the tub for it personally. i continued to use the bear sponge until he was almost one month when i finally gave him a real bath. his cord fell off at like 2 weeks but only partially. it took another week for the rest to fall off.
i didn't want to bother getting the tub set up with the hammock thing so that's why i used the bear sponge

It's a thing you can pout the baby on say on the table for a little cushion while you sponge bath.

It's not as bad as you would think. It's just a nub that is left at that point...maybe an inch long.

Re: What's the earliest you can give a baby a bath again?
I found the tub was helpful to sponge bath her - it was easier to wash her - I found it was much more messy and harder to contain her when not using the tub. You can put then in there with either no water or just 1/2 inch - then just use a sponge rather than pouring water over them. You need to just make sure the cord stays dry.
