whats the post office liable for ?
No biggie, but I mailed another mommy lots of formula coupons, and she said she got part of the envelope and nothing else, and it had a note that said it was damaged in the mail and that is what was left of it...
it wasnt insured or anything, but I feel so bad.. It was a good $25 in formula coupons.

I don't think they are liable at all, if you didn't insure it. I lost a gift card I was trying to send to my brother the same way.
