What's up with sleeping eveywhere but the crib?

I swear I want to convert Roman's crib already. He sleeps through the night on the futon cushion, the couch, any bed, just not his crib. It's not like we're sleeping with him either. Why does he not get up during the night while sleeping elsewhere? He's been sleeping on the futon cushion on the floor since 8:15. What gives?

There's nothing wrong with converting his crib if he's not sleeping in it. Did he always sleep in his crib before? Does he play in his crib a lot? If so, it could be he's not associating the crib with sleep. You could also try flannel crib sheets. He may not like the smooth, cool sheets.

I never let him play in his crib/room and he always took naps and slept in his crib up until a few months ago. DH thought it was because he was soothed by our smell all over the other places. I gave him my t-shirt to sleep with- no difference.

DD is currently crying in her crib- I'm giving her five more minutes & then putting her in the swing. She absolutely hates the crib. And its so pretty!! I don't get it.
