What's your "Agenda" for the 1st b-day party?

How long is it going to be and what's on the itinerary?

I'm curious as to how the flow is supposed to go.

Re: What's your "Agenda" for the 1st b-day party?

Emma's party started at 1 and everyone left by around 5. The food was set up when everyone arrived. At around 1:30 we ate while the puppet show people set up (and pretty much ate all afternoon) The puppet show was from 2-2:30, then they did tattoos and balloons after. After that we sang happy birthday and had cake. Then a little while after that we opened gifts.

We have people coming at 1, thinking they are going to leave around 5. We are having an inflatable bouncer from 2-4, as well as face painting, animal balloons and a popcorn machine (I am very excited about this!!!) Im thinking we will eat around 2:30, and then have cake maybe around 4...Im not sure...I am hiring a waitress, so hopefully she will keep the food schedule going.

Plus, if it's warm enough, the kids can go in the pool.

Re: What's your "Agenda" for the 1st b-day party?

hannahs bday fell on a friday, and that being said, bc it was her FIRST, i had her actual parrty on that friday...i held the party from 530- about 830 people started leaving...no big agenda really- it was just family and close friends- we did a 6 foot hero and pizza (with potato salad and all that stuff)....for appetizer we put out a huge fruit platter, shrimp cocktail, various chips...dessert was cake and ice cream....i think she "opened" her gifts right before the dessert...i did serve alcohol- being it was a friday nite party and was really a GTG with family, i didnt feel weird....now, if i ever have a party with those blow up bouncy things and have a lot of kids and its during the day, i probly wouldnt serve- but hey, to me, u wanna come to my party, here ya go, have a beer...

thats really it....we just made it small and special for her...as far as anything we did "special" and different for her- we had a cake but i made her a few seperate cupcakes with elmo and grovers face on them which she got to get into herself...i also made her a tshirt which had her last name and the #1 on the back (kinda like a jersey- this will be a tradition too- this year she get a "jersey" with the #2 on it)...

hope this helps- shes a june baby- and so i plan on probly doing outdoor bbqs and stuff throughout her life, with games and stuff for her friends....

I have people coming at 1. Food is coming at 1. Probably do cake at 3. Other than that, it's a free for all. I have no special entertainment coming, just outside toys for the kids.

Re: What's your "Agenda" for the 1st b-day party?

For us, since there are more adults by far than kids, we are having an adult type party. 4 course dinner after hors d'ouvres. In a corner we are going to have some kind of play area ( I am still working this out with the hall as to what we are allowed). We decided not to have any characters or anything. There will also probably be a DJ, but I have yet to book itChat Icon It is a 4 1/2 hour party. We also have for the table coloring books and those Crayola water markers for those books (no mess Chat Icon ).
