what's your district's policy on Inservice Credits vs Grad Credits for salary advancement?
I just found out that our district actually allows all credits for salary advancement to be inservice credits.
Our contract is up in 2 years I think so I was told to move up the salary scale as quick as possible just in case they take that incentive away from us.

For the +15, +30, and +45 steps, it must be 6 grad credit and 9 inservice. the rest can be inservice only.

For every ten, 3 need to be grad. For every 15, 6 need to be grad. We just renegotiated....they wanted this changed, but we held them to not change it.

Our steps are in intervals of 15 up to MA plus 60, and for each set of 15, 6 have to be grad, 9 can be inservice

For each increment of 30 at least half must be grad. It's a shame as we have great in service in my district. I know I taught one

Re: what's your district's policy on Inservice Credits vs Grad Credits for salary advancement?
in my district, they can be ALL in-service credits taken through our Teacher Center, which is awesome. I've earned almost 30 this way. However, it takes FOREVER as most of their courses are only 1 credit. most people take graduate level credit courses at some point to speed it along. the teacher center is great though because i am not spending much money to do it this way.
if their recognized graudate courses from a service provider like Dellecave or Scope, it's 3 credits for a week long class. if it's a week long class, but not a graudate course, it's 2 credits.

Wow that is GOOD!
Ours is 9 in-service. Our guide is Bachelor's, +30 (it's not a requirement to have your masters in Jersey), Masters, +30, +45, PhD.

Re: what's your district's policy on Inservice Credits vs Grad Credits for salary advancement?
We go up to MA + 60 and only 30 of those credits can be inservice. Out of the 60, we can only do 12 on-line (and those are super-tough to get approved )

Re: what's your district's policy on Inservice Credits vs Grad Credits for salary advancement?
We go by 15 credit increments. For every 15, 9 must be grad and 6 must be inservice. We can't take many inservice courses online and all classes must be approved. The district also weights about 4-5 NYSUT courses per year so they count for 4.5 credits instead of 3 grad credits.
