What's your favorite film...
that depicts life in college?
I'm teaching a Freshman College Experience class in the fall, and am thinking about including a film as part of their critical thinking lesson, and having them write a reflection paper on how a film's depiction of college life is similar/different from their own experience.

I totally agree-- I also really liked "How I Got Into College".. it was about taking the SATs, and applying to schools-- in a funny way, not a dorky way. Only person I remember being in the movie was Laura Flynn Boyle- before she was totally anorexic.
Oh-- I got another good one for a college class-- Higher Leanring-- we loved that one in college.

I totally agree-- I also really liked "How I Got Into College".. it was about taking the SATs, and applying to schools-- in a funny way, not a dorky way. Only person I remember being in the movie was Laura Flynn Boyle- before she was totally anorexic.

I like With Honors for a serious flick, but not about freshmen. Also School Daze by Spike Lee.

Higher learning is a good one.
I think it would depend on whether you are looking for entertainment value or to make a point.
Old School is great but I am not sure that would go over well.

Did I mention I work at a Catholic school? LOL. These are a great start! Thanks everyone. DH is going to be thrilled I have a bunch of movies we can start watching on the weekends....
