My doctor's office offers childbirth classes, but I'm in NJ so that's probably not helpful. We were supposed to go for an all day Saturday class when I was 34 weeks, but I was REALLY sick that day so they rescheduled us for the next class, which is when I'll be 38 weeks. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!

We took it at our the office and it was not what we expected. It was more of a child care class 101. We did maybe 15 minutes of breathing techniques. It was a full Saturday and cost $150. Would have preferred us to buy some dvd's - books on Lamaze instead...

I am doing it in my doctors office too but will have a hospital tour. Did you guys get that?

it seems like everyone I talk to found these classes to be a waste of time - I might just get a few dvd's on lamaze instead.
I havent looked into a hospital tour yet. dr hasnt mentioned it but I am only 22 weeks.

I took it for my first child. Took it at winthrop. Thought it was informative, not so much for breathing! We took it in April and I was due at end of May.

I am going about 5 weeks before my due date at NYU Hospital where I am delivering. I am doing it on 2 Saturdays 3/18 and 3/25.

We did it during week 36 - it was a 9-2 pm course and it took place at my doctors office on Northern Blvd.
Our instructor pretty much told us what to expect, when to call the hosiptal/doctor, how to time contractions, she spoke alittle about epidurals - taught us some breathing techniques during labor.
