When are you putting your gifts together? Swings, etc...
My shower is this coming Saturday and I have already received a few things like the storllers and swings, etc...When should I put them together?
I have about 7 weeks to go. I would like to put them together just to get it out of the way, but I don't want to jinx anything...
Any thoughts? What are you doing?

Aside from my stroller (which was given to me put together) Everything else is waiting until after the baby is born..

i put everything together 2 and 3 weeks before my due date. This way in case i go early (which I was told not likly last appt) Everything willbe set up and ready for use for the baby and Dh and I can enjoy baby and not stress over assembly.

i put the swing together last week and the pack n play the week before (but i took it apart already-just wanted to see how easy it was to do)
The stroller is together and the car seat base is in my car!

Set everything up early if you have the room- believe me, the LAST thing you feel like doing is read directions and put crap together when you have a newborn to take care of....

I put everything together right after I got it, just in case there was a problem with anything - that way I could return it before the baby arrived.
And then, the baby came early, so I was really glad we had gotten it out of the way in advance!

We still have to put together the big swing but the travel one, the papasan seat and the stroller are ready to go.

Our plan is to put things together now so we can see if anything is broken. So far Dh has put together the bassinet. I think he will do a little each week until baby comes.

the only thing we set up was the twins pack n play for them to sleep in, but they hated it.

I havent really done anything yet. I have a few things already, and my shower is this weekend, so i may take everything out just to make sure not broken. I hate jinxing anything too.....

I wish we had put some things together early, but we weren't that organized.
What I do recommend is...get a folder and make sure you keep all directions and manuals together. Write on the outside of the folder what manuals are in there....this way, things won't get lost in all the boxes and clutter

I will do it when i can...I never thought I'd be jinxing anything by doing that. Baby's clothes are the first to get done (washed) then on to strollers and bassinets. I think we're doing the stuff we'll need first out of the way...then put together the other stuff.

We just put together the pnp, swing & bouncer this weekend (I'm 36 wks).
My question is: did you save the boxes in case you have to return something? We don't need more clutter but I figure if I do throw it out, I'll probably need it later

I am also wondering about the boxes. If I put everything together and also keep the boxes I will have soooo much clutter. Yet I want to keep the boxes in case something breaks. I was thinking of asking my ILs if I could store the boxes in their basement until we are sure everyhthing works properly.
