when did baby start sleeping in their crib?
Just a pregnant lady thinking ahead. My bedroom is right next to the babys room and I'm not sure I see the point in having him/her sleep in our room when it is literally feet away.
But then again I'm sure I may change my mind once baby comes. I just don't want baby to get used to sleeping in our room and not in his/her crib. KWIM?
How old was your baby when they started sleeping in their crib? TIA!

DD slept in our room in her bassinett until she was 5 months old!! Thank god she is small Mommy couldn't let her go in her own room but now she is in the crib and doing fine!!!

at 3 months we made the switch. some girls have their DC's in the crib from day 1 but i liked having DS next to me especially when he was waking up every 2 hours.

Same! We just loved having her in the room with us... but she hit the weight limit on the PnP bassinet part and we had to start letting her sleep in her crib all night. Before that we usually put her down in her crib but transferred her to our room when we went to bed. She has no problem sleeping in her crib all night now.

when she was about 1 week old. We didn't get her furniture delivered until then. (superstitous inlaws!) So she was in the pnp next to my bed until the crib arrived.

Same here, with both DC. It allowed at least one of us to sleep while the other was on night-feeding duty. Plus, it was one less transition to put DC through (and us). For us, it was the best option.

DS only slept in our room one night when we brought him home. His crib is right by the door of his room which is right across the hallway from ours. We put him in the crib the second night he was home and he has no trouble sleeping in it. We sleep so much better without him in our room which makes us better parents when he is awake.

just transitioned DS at 11 weeks and he is sleeping sooo much better. It's much quieter in his own room. I miss having him next to me in the bassinet, but I honestly wish we would have done it a month ago. If I have another one, I would do it at 6 weeks.

Seeing as he never slept in the bassinet, but the swing that was in the living room...it wasn't too big a stretch to put him in the crib at 2 1/2 months.
