When did DC stop using the stroller?

Just curious as I'm about to buy a stroller... only problem is the stroller accommodates a child up to 4 yo.

Would that work or do children need to be in a stroller past that age?

My DS is only 15 months old, but I don't think a child older than 4 needs a stroller, IMO.

I had 2 kids, so my son was in a sit and stand starting at age 2. I can't imagine him in a stoller at age 4. He's just so big. My guess is around age 3 or 4, when they are big enough to walk on their own.

My DD is going to be 3 in October.

She isn't necessarily a "big" kid. She is tall, but thin.

We still use the stroller. Not often. Maybe 1-2X/month. We will use it on a long walk, a late evening walk (like we took tonight, it was getting dark out) and at busy malls. In most stores we will use the shopping cart or let her walk. If it's a daytime walk she just holds our hand.

I still keep it around though and will bring it on trips also probably for another year or so.

Julia is 3 and I still put her in a stroller or she will be running around every store I go into!! I also like to know that she is right next to me and not have that scare that I can't find her. I would say by 4 they are old enough to be out of the stroller, but it is much easier if they are in one!
