Re: when did u stop heating DC milk?

DS is 8 months and I still heat his formula.

There was only one time where I gave it to him cold (like from a cooler cold) when we were sitting in traffic and he was hysterical because he was hungry. Well, it was the first and ONLY time the kid ever had gas so I swore I'd never give it to him cold again. Granted, he was like a month old back then.

Maybe it's not necessary. But for me I think it is more comforting when it is warm.

Re: when did u stop heating DC milk?

I lost patience with heating formula early on, so my answer is "a long time ago". Ava drinks her milk cold now. If it's especially chilly out at night, I might heat it up just to warm her up. Silly, but I always feel like it'll keep her warm or something at nightChat Icon

Re: when did u stop heating DC milk?

If I don't heat Steven's milk, he gets diareah. So, yes, sometimes there is a reason to heat the milk. I don't really boil it like I used to. I just run it under the hot faucet. Or I make the bottle a few minutes before I give it to him and let it sit.

DS will be 2 in 3 weeks and I am still warming his milk (only 30 seconds in the microwave, just to take the chill out)Chat Icon

About 6 months old.

I make the bottles with room temp water.

I might just heat the milk a bit to take the chill off.

I never did. Warm milk skeeves me for some reason. And for formula, I only used room temp water to mix the powder.

Re: when did u stop heating DC milk?

VERY early on - probably at a few weeks old - he would scream the whole time, so one night i popped a cold bottle in his mouth, he took it, and I'm like - ok - no more heating up for you!!!

My DD won't drink it cold - so I just try to take the chill off.

We have used room temperature water for as long as we've been giving DD formula (from about 4 months old).
