When did Washington Mutual start charging to use their AMTs?
They are the only bank in my building and now they charge to use their ATM! What happened to the "Buck fifty stops here"?

I thought the whole thing was that if you are a wamu customer they won't charge you for using a different bank.

As far as I know they don't charge, but I am a WAMU customer. I think if you are not - your bank might charge you - but not at the ATM

I'm not a WAMU customer but I have always used the ATM because it doesn't charge a fee when you use another bank's card. It was great, because there aren't any branches for our bank around here.

If you area WAMU member, you shouldnt have any charges on your statement. If you are from another bank, WAMU will not charge their fee, but your bank may still charge THEIRS.. HTH

They just changed it because I went downstairs and it was going to charge me $1.50. It's better then some banks I guess and I don't get charged by my bank.

I work for WAMU.
Starting November 17th they started charging non customers to use the ATM they were losing Billions from non customers using the ATM
They have been charging customers 1.00 (plus the bank that owns the atm charges) FOREVER

Not wamu thats another bank BUT you have to have a balance of 2500.00 in your checking to avoid those charges
