When did you buy your first item?
I'm having all these emotions...I'm happy, excited but at the same time I'm scared and continue to think of all of the things that can go wrong.
Today I went to Barnes and Noble to buy my book club book and I went straight to the pregnancy section. I wanted to buy a journal to start writing down thoughts and experiences....and I also wanted to buy one of those what to expect books....but I put them back and left there with neither....I felt scared and all this horrible thoughts went through my mind.
Am I crazy..does this go away...when is a good time to accept everything is ok and buy that journal or book or whatever?
Sorry so long...

Re: When did you buy your first item?
I honestly feel the same way. For the first 3 months of my pregnancy, we didn't even really 'think' or talk about the baby because so much could go wrong.
Now, I am in 5th month, its becoming more real and I am getting a bit excited about it.. but I still won't go shopping or anything. We bought books.. just because they are useful, but thats it. I don't know if we are going to by baby stuff before third trimester - probably not.

Re: When did you buy your first item?
I was totally nervous through my first trimester. I still keep asking DH if everything is okay with our baby (like he has a clue). I bought 2 books around 8 or 10 weeks probably. They helped a lot though in calming me that different symptoms were normal and how to help some of my symptoms (headachs and m/s). So go for it, I know its hard but try to enjoy this time without worrying about what may or may not happen. Just bask in being pregnant!

Re: When did you buy your first item?
I didn't want to buy anything either. I got "Belly Laughs" from the library near the end of the first trimester. Then in the second I got "Your pregnancy week by week".
I may actually start soon. And it wasn't so much that I was worried, but more still in disbelief.

Re: When did you buy your first item?
I think I borrowed all my sisters books in the beginning and then bought one or two of my own around 7-8 weeks.
I was very scared in the beginning too. I felt safer once I was out of the 1st trimester but I'm going to worry about my little man for the rest of my life. But I had no idea it would begin the day of the BFP!!
It does get better though...the anxiety goes away and is replaced w/happy excitement!!

Re: When did you buy your first item?
I bought something right after the doctor confirmed I was pregnant - so about 2 months into the pregnancy. I went to the mall after my sono and couldn't resist some of the after Christmas sales.

Re: When did you buy your first item?
The only thing I bought was What to Expect....I bought it at 7 weeks after having seen the h/b. I don't want to buy anything else until after this 1st trimester ends next week. Even then, I will prob only buy another book or 2.
