When did you cut your DC hair for the first time?
My twins are 11.5 months old and both have a lot of hair, my DS hair is always in his eyes and my DD bangs are just way too long, even though I try to put them back.
I really want to cut their hair, but everybody keeps telling me I can't cut their hair until their 1st birthday. I ask everyone why and nobody has a real answer.
If you waited to cut your DC hair, why did you wait?

This has been a battle in my house. I wanted to wait till 1, but had no real reason. DS's hair is getting crazy. He just turned 11 months yesterday, and we are taking him tomorrow. I know I will cry just bc he's going to look so much older.

If i could have waited u til 12 mos I would have. BUT DS has so much hair... If I combed it down strait in his face prehaircut, it was down past his lips. We got it cut at 11 mos only because we were in Disney World and I knew having it cut at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street was something special. They saved every piece of hair folded in tissue paper, then placed in a draw-string bag and he got this cute certificate. Now here we are, a month and a half later and we need another cut. I'm having just as hard of a time now (if not harder). I'm hoping this gets easier!

DS is only just about 6 months so no haircuts for us yet. However, I do know some cultures have a thing about not cutting hair until 1 year. A friend of mine who is from El Salvador (I think) did this for her son and she told me she waited b/c that is what they do in their culture.

I didn't wait. I never heard anything about waiting until 1 year and my guy has way too much hair. We cut it at 5 months, then again at 7 months. I feel bad for him when it's in his face and I'd rather make sure he's happy/comfortable then to wait for my own reasons.

#2- 4.5 years old
 #2- 10 months old
I am not a fan of bangs so I never even trimmed the girls hair until they were older. With DS I cut it before he started getting any curls. I knew if he started getting curls(like his sisters) I would never be able to cut it

I know it's a Jewish thing and an Eastern European thing.
DS didn't have much hair so we waited until almost 18 months. and even then DH said we could have waited longer.

DS he was older than 1. He had a lovely head of curls that people kept pressuring us to cut. DD is almost 20 months and has never had a haircut. She also has a head of curls!

Sean was 4 months - LOL. His hair was out of control.
Colin was about 11 months ......but only b/c he didn't have enough hair to cut
I don't get the reason for waiting AT ALL - other than being worried about their reaction.
i am lucky that my sister is a stylist, so she cut their hair
Sean now goes to the barber w/ DH (he's 3) but she still cuts Colin's

DD just got her hair cut for the first time a few weeks ago. She's almost 3.
DS is only 5 months and doesn't have that much hair so it will probably be a while before his 1st haircut.

We did it at 16 months... waited to do it at WDW. It wasn't long enough to get cut at 12 mo, but if it needed I woulda done it. By 16 months it was toooo long. He was getting a mullet

DS #1 he got his hair cut for his 2nd birthday. He didn't really need one before then
DS #2 was older than 2 I trimmed the back myself and he will be 3 in October and he just had his first haircut this weekend. He doesn't have much hair in the front

I trimmed DD's bangs myself at 17 mo becuase they were in her eyes. I don't plan to do a real haircut for a long time though.
