When did you DC first start with a "lovey"?

Like a stuffed animal or a blanket?

DS is 8 weeks old and he loves to rub blankets on his face and try to fall asleep that way. Seriously, I just walked over to the swing 3x to pull the blanket down. Is this a little young?

We started DD with a lovey at about 5 months old. I suppose she might have started earlier if we had introduced it earlier.

Sarah was about 11 months when she took to her doll. Andy still hasn't shown a preference for any one toy yet.

We started Matty with stuffed animals at 5-6 months. He has three teddys in his crib. We started it because he loves to bury his head in our pillows when he would nap in our bed. To transition him to nap in his crib I bought soft, lightweight teddys- so now, he literally smushes his face in them to sleep. There is no way he could suffocate because he can easily pull them off. He has stopped using the binky so much at night too because he can chew on them. It has helped his sleeping a lot to have these teddys.

DD just started with her teddy bear. I gave her a whole mess of stuffed toys to pick from and she picked the expensive, beautiful teddy bear her grandma gave her as a keepsake. Smart cookie, that daughter of mine
