when did you first feel the baby move with baby #1?

My OB said most first time moms feel the baby by/around 20w but I've heard of people feeling it earlier. Curious how likely that is!

Also, when could your DH first feel the baby move?

Edit: I am 17w1d and am really looking forward to this!!

That's what mine said too. I can't wait until I feel the baby. I am 16 weeks now.

I think I felt it around 19 weeks, DH around 23/24 weeks.

i felt something around 16 weeks and then i started feeling movement everyday between 17 and 18 weeks. my DH was able to feel it around 18 weeks too. you should be feeling something soon!

I felt slight movement when laying on my side at 14/15 weeks. I'm almost 21 weeks and I really feel him moving around in there!

The day I turned 17 weeks, I felt a flutter. I felt about 1 tiny bubble / move a day from then on until about 19 weeks. DH felt the baby at 19 w 2 d or so when he had his head on my belly in bed one time.

I started feeling the baby more around 23/24 weeks and by 28 weeks it was very obvious and anyone could feel it when she moved and see it from the outside.

i felt reallllly inconsistent flutters around 15w. but then i didnt feel anything really again until 17-18w. and it wasnt until 20-21w that it was obviously baby. DH could feel somewhat around 22w. now im 24w and its amazing how much i can feel (and see!!) !!

I don't consider flutters real "movement" -- so I'm not counting the occassional bubble/flutter feeling.

The first real "twitch" seemed to come around 21 or 22 wks. They were very inconsistent.

Then around 25 wks it started to pick up and now in the last 2 wks it's something I feel constantly.

18 weeks for me is when I started to feel flutters and felt movements a week later.

I first felt flutters at 17.5 weeks. Full blown kicks around 22, and DH felt them around 23.

i started feeling a popping feeling around 17 weeks. shortly after it felt more like flutters or a butteryfly feeling.

dh felt the baby at 20 weeks

I felt the baby some where in the mid 18th week, not consitant until 21 or so weeks though. DH felt him much later though (partly do to his impatience with leaving his hand on my belly

Spinoff question... was there a specific position you were in that made it easier to feel the baby?

I first felt her at 19 weeks. It became more consistent by 22 weeks.

I was really suspecting I was feeling "something" at about 16-17 weeks. I was more convinced it was the baby by 18-19 weeks and by 20 weeks there was no denying it. I think I'm very in tune with my body though becuase one of the things that made me test before my period was even due was my uterus just felt "different", in a way it had never felt before. I remember driving home from work and thinking to myself "I must be pregnant, I've never had this feeling before". Sure enough I got a super faint BFP the next morning when I tested.

ETA- I noticed the baby mostly at first when I was sitting at a desk using the computer!

I felt it at exactly 20wks. DH felt the baby move around 23 wks.

I've been feeling flutters since about 16 weeks. So cool! i'm 18 weeks now and can't wait to feel kicks that my dh can feel, too!

My doc said I have an anterior placenta, so it may absorb more of the kicking. Which reminds me... I have to go look up what an anterior placenta means.

I am so jealous of everyone who felt even a flutter in their 16-18 weeks... I am 18 weeks 4 days and I haven't felt a thing :/ I want to so bad!!! Just this week I started looking less chubby and more pregnant - so I have been dying for something a bump or a movement...I'll take either at this point!
